'One Night Only, Again' - McFly - The 02

At the end of last year I was lucky enough to get to shoot McFly at The O2. While I have photographed McFly a number of times before at their own shows and also when they played at secret set at Slam Dunk Festival, in my 10+ years of shooting live music this was only my second time at The O2. The first time was way back in 2014 when I photographed Linkin Park. It was such an amazing show and we got to shoot the first three songs in the pit, then shoot the whole show from in the arena, before heading back to the pit for the encore - a photographer’s dream right there!

In contrast this show was very different, not only was there no main photo pit due to the VIP fan circle, but we also had to shoot from behind the band’s walkway stage, oh and there were also video crew on tracks - absolute nightmare from a photographer’s point of view (especially when you’re short). Nevertheless, I did manage to get some shots I was happy with, which you can see below. I just wish there had been better spaces to shoot from, (and this isn’t the worse I’ve had) but we do what we can!
